Student Groups

American Society of Civil Engineers

This undergraduate group hosts weekly lunch-and-learns, professional networking activities, social activities, and more! Contact Prof. Jeff Holley (jholley@mines.edu) for information.

American Water Works Association / Water Environment Federation

The goal of the AWWA/WEF student chapter is to provide an avenue for the exchange of information and ideas through networking and mentoring, as well as foster academic excellence and leadership. We enable students to explore the water treatment profession, learn sectors where young engineers are needed, understand the direction of technology and applications, apply technical skills to solving real world problems, get involved in local water issues, and network with water professionals. This is accomplished through organized student seminars, technical tours, and volunteer events.

Student Committee for Civil and Environmental Engineers

cee graduate student association (cee gsa)

As a CEE graduate student, you are automatically a member of the CEE Graduate Student Association (CEE GSA). This is a group composed of graduate students in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department. The primary purpose of CEE GSA is to facilitate and encourage intra-departmental activities, collaboration, and unity between graduate students enrolled in the department’s different degree programs and specialty tracks, as well as students enrolled in Mines’ interdisciplinary programs who are advised by CEE faculty.

To accomplish this, CEE GSA organizes and participates in various activities throughout the year including organizing the departmental winter celebration party, end of the year party, and other events to enhance the Civil and Environmental Engineering community. Members also interact with the Graduate Student Government (GSG) by providing student feedback.

How to Join

All CEE GSA members and positions are voluntary. Officer positions include President, Vice President, Treasurer, and other positions that the committee identifies.

The club’s officer positions for the 2024-25 school year are listed below. Students interested in serving as officers during the next year should contact the President.
